A highly regarded and widely recognized expert in high-end real estate sales, Kurt Rappaport began working in real estate while attending the University of Southern California. He started at Merrill Lynch Realty in Beverly Hills and then Fred Sands Estates before joining the boutique firm of Stan Herman, Stephen Shapiro and Associates in 1995. There, Rappaport’s great talent and dedication helped him become one of the most successful agents in the business. In 1999, he partnered with Stephen Shapiro to found Westside Estate Agency (WEA). WEA has over 60 full time agents with offices in Beverly Hills and Malibu; it is the premier independent brokerage firm in Southern California and handles over $2 billion dollars in annual transactions.

Kurt closed the largest private home transaction in Los Angeles history, a collection of homes on along Carbon Beach in Malibu. He has handled more sales above $10,000,000 than any other broker in history. In 2006, Kurt closed the largest residential land sale in the history of Bel Air (an entire street across from the Bel Air Hotel). In 2008, he listed the most expensive residential property (still to date) ever listed – the William Randolph Hearst Estate in Beverly Hills for $165,000,000. He represented the buyer in the most prolific buying spree of residential properties ever in United States history, a collection of over 20 beachfront properties along Carbon Beach in Malibu. Additionally, in 2011 Kurt closed the largest transaction in Los Angeles County; in 2012 he closed the largest transaction in Beverly Hills, a deal in which he represented both the buyer and seller.

Kurt has personally owned and remodeled over 15 significant homes in the Los Angeles area and has collaborated with world renowned architects, designers, and contractors in creating some of the finest estate properties. In 2007, he sold his own estate in Beverly Hills (the former See’s Candy Estate, which he preserved and restored to its original glory) to Tom Cruise. Additionally, in 2010 Kurt sold another Beverly Hills estate he owned and rebuilt, in the 1000 block of North Crescent Drive to an international luminary.  He currently resides in Beverly Hills and is building a home in Malibu on a 6 acre ocean bluff.
